Goodyear police seize 20 pounds of methamphetamines.

Goodyear Police detectives seized 20 pounds of methamphetamine Aug. 2 following an investigation.
Methamphetamines are classified as dangerous drugs under Arizona law, which means possession of the drug could result in a class 4 felony and 3.75 years of prison time. The legal repercussions jump to a class 2 felony if more than 9 grams are found.
“Every seizure, regardless of size, is a significant victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the Valley,” said Goodyear Police Sgt. Sean Tyler.
Detectives on the Goodyear Investigations Unit are tasked with investigating, identifying, arresting and gaining successful prosecution of individuals involved in criminal activity as well as recovering stolen property. Specializing in forms of investigative activities like surveillance, serving arrest warrants, search warrants, and sex offender accountability. These detectives take on longer investigate cases which could take months or years to fully investigate.
