The 3rd Annual Chicano Pride Ride Arizona coming up in Goodyear will raise money to support Advance Community’s mission to strengthen optimal health in under-resourced Valley communities.

The event takes place Saturday, Oct. 21 at RoadRunner Harley-Davidson, 1402 N. 159th Ave. Kickstands go up at 10 a.m. sharp, and the event goes through 6 p.m.

The Chicano Pride Ride is a motorcycle poker run with various Valley stops. Registration check-in for all riders begins at 8 a.m. on-site.

As a provider of health education, disease prevention and nutrition programs and resources to under-resourced Latino communities in Arizona, the Phoenix-based nonprofit Advance Community is participating in the Chicano Pride Ride Arizona in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Advance is strengthening Latino communities in Arizona and changing lives around the world,” Debbie Ortega, Chicano Pride Ride Arizona organizer, shared in a press release. “Our team felt Advance’s vision of health equity for everyone aligned with our mission to provide resources and support to underserved communities and individuals.”

The Chicano Pride Ride was founded in 2010 in Denver on the guiding principle of giving back to the community and to educate the younger generation about Latino culture and heritage.

“Through programs focused on disease prevention, education, and treatment, we help bring optimal health to under-resourced communities,” Jeri Royce, Advance president and CEO, stated. “We are thrilled to be selected by the Chicano Pride Ride Arizona as the recipient of the funds raised from this year’s event.”
