Glendale Woman's Club leads candidate forum

The GFWC Glendale Woman's Club will lead a candidate forum for all four Glendale City Council candidates in competitive races from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at the Glendale Woman's Club offices, 7032 N. 56th Ave.

Lupe Conchas is running against incumbent and Vice Mayor Ian Hugh for the Cactus District, while newcomers Lupe Encinas and  Dianna  Guzman face off for the Yucca District race.

The public is invited to the forum and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Public questions will be accepted as long as they are sent to GFWC Glendale Woman's Club by July 18.

Questions must be pertinent to the city and business community. Email questions to CandidatesForum2024@gmail.com.

Ballots were mailed out to residents July 3. Election day is Tuesday, July 30.

In-person voting is available at the following local sites:

  • ASU West Campus, 4701 W. Thunderbird Road.
  • Bicentennial North School, 7237 W. Missouri Ave.
  • Glendale Elementary School District System of Care, 7677 W. Bethany Home Road.
  • GCC North Chinle Building, 5727 W. Happy Valley Road.
  • Glendale Christian Church,9661 N. 59th Ave.
  • Glendale Elementary School District Office, 7301 N. 58th Ave.
  • Washington Elementary School District Office 4650 W. Sweetwater Ave.
  • West-MEC Central Campus, 6997 N. Glen Harbor Blvd.
  • Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 23121 N. 67th Ave.
  • Community of Christ, 5036 W. Paradise Lane.
  • Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church, 7201 W. Beardsley Road.
  • First Baptist Church, 7233 N. 75th Ave.
  • St. John's Lutheran Church, 7205 N. 51st Ave.
  • Vineyard Church of Northwest Phoenix, 6250 W. Peoria Ave.

Ballots may be dropped at Glendale Civic Center, 5752 W. Glenn Drive, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  on weekdays in July and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.
