A Glendale teen missing for almost four years has been located and is safe.
Alicia Navarro went missing in September of 2019, and in that time Glendale Police Department detectives here have followed up on thousands of leads. GPD reported Wednesday afternoon that Alicia, now 18, went into a police station on her own in a small town in Montana near the Canadian border to identify herself.
“She is by all accounts safe, by all accounts healthy, she is by all accounts happy,” Jose Santiago, GPD media manager, said Wednesday at a press conference at the downtown police station.
Investigators are looking at this case as a runaway but have not ruled out any scenarios at this time.
Navarro’s mother took to Facebook to share a message.
“At first I want to give glory to God for answering prayers and for this miracle,” she said. “For everyone who has missing loved ones I want you to use this case as an example that miracles do exist. Never lose hope and always fight.”
