Glendale police arrested a man in connection with an apartment fire that occurred Monday afternoon.

Police took Raziel Leyva Lugo, 25, into custody Tuesday, March 7 for setting an apartment unit on fire the day before.

The Glendale Fire Department responded to the incident at about 12:30 p.m. March 6 at the Rossmore Apartments in the area of 6100 N. 61st Avenue.

Sgt. Waite stated witnesses reported seeing a Hispanic male running east from the apartment complex. He was wearing a red shirt and jeans.

Officials located a gas can at the scene, Sgt. Waite stated.

Glendale crews extinguished the fire with no one occupying the apartment at the time.

Police charged Lugo with arson.
