Hurshneet Chada, a senior marketing student at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, is one of five Arizona nominees for the 2022-2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars in Career and Technical Education.

A review team consisting of CTE stakeholders evaluated the nominees based on academic rigor, technical competence, professional employability skills, and ingenuity and creativity.

This marks the third straight year a Mountain Ridge student has been nominated.

Chada was selected by Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman, and was submitted by her office to the Commission on Presidential Scholars at the U.S. Department of Education. As a semifinalist nominee, Chada will be invited to apply for the National Review by the Commission on Presidential Scholars.

Twenty outstanding U.S. Presidential Scholars in Career and Technical Education students from throughout the U.S. will be announced in May, with a National Scholar Recognition Program to follow in June.
