City of Glendale firefighters and Glendale Firefighter Charities are hosting a free water safety and drowning prevention event.

The instructional clinic starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at Rose Lane Aquatics Center, 5003 W. Marlette Ave.

The event will include a drowning rescue simulation, hands-on CPR practice, and life vest fittings.

Councilmember Ian Hugh will cover the cost of admission for all attendees, and the Salt River Project will be giving away gift bags to the first 200 people.
