Glendale concert series takes on new life as LiVE, in Downtown Glendale

Posted

Glendale’s LiVE! concert series is revived and reformatted, kicking off the first of eight monthly concerts on Saturday, Sept, 30.

The monthly themed shows feature live performances starting at 1 p.m. , at   57th Avenue and Glenn Drive in downtown Glendale. Gates open at 12 p.m.

September’s “Fiesta Caliente” concert celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month and will feature headliner Amor Prohibido Band: A Selena Tribute. The opening acts are Internacional Mariachisimo, Louie S. Band and the PowerDrive Band.

“We are looking forward to kicking off the new event season as we continue to bring this fantastic series to the community,” said Economic Development Deputy Director and Downtown Manager, Daniel Sabillon. “In addition to the fun and memories that will be made, this new format helps us further support our local merchants by bringing concertgoers consistently to downtown Glendale during the eight months of the series.”

In addition to the four musical acts, guests will enjoy lawn games, a live art installation, food trucks and a bar area for adults 21 and older. Identification will be required for alcohol purchases. Concertgoers who would like to enjoy the performances seated are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for their comfort. The city has partnered with Relentless Beats LLC, Crescent Crown and Arizona Rentals to produce ‘LiVE!’.

Downtown Glendale offers visitors a wide variety of shopping and award-winning dining options. All parking is free on the surrounding streets and at the Bank of America parking garage. Handicap parking is available in the event lot.
