Alejandro David Gonzalez, 33, has been indicted on three charges in connection with the death of his mother, who was found decapitated, authorities said.

Gonzalez faces charges, including first-degree murder, theft of means of transportation and tampering with physical evidence, according to a release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

On Sept. 27, the Glendale Police Department officers arrived at a home near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Inside, they found woman whose head had been removed. She was identified as Gonzalez’s mother.

Glendale police submitted a case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on Sept. 28, and a grand jury indicted Gonzalez on Oct. 3, the release stated.

Gonzalez’s first arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 10. He is in jail being held on a $1,000,000 cash only bond, officials said.
