Gilbert aggravated assault suspects indicted

Two 18-year-olds have been indicted on aggravated assault charges in connection with separate incidents in Gilbert, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced this week.

Noah Lee Pennington faces two counts of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct from a grand jury indictment “in relation to alleged criminal acts” on Dec. 16, 2022, in Gilbert, according to an MCAO release.

In a separate case, William Owen Hines has been indicted for vehicular aggravated assault, stemming from an incident on July 6 where a victim was injured.

“Hines was served with the grand jury warrant after an arrest effected by the Gilbert Police Department on Jan. 31, 2024,” the release stated.

The county attorney’s office stated the indictments "are independent of the submittals received for the death of 16-year-old Preston Lord," who died after being assaulted outside a Halloween party in Queen Creek in October 2023.
