Process moves forward in controversial transfer station case in Peoria area

Republic Services to host meeting

Although an official public hearing has not been set for a controversial recycling and waste transfer station proposed for the north Peoria area, preparations are being made for a zoning hearing and opposing neighbors are gearing up for a fight.

The facility is dubbed the WestWing Recycling and Transfer Facility and it is proposed near El Mirage Road and Loop 303 in unicorporated Maricopa County.

Republic Services will host a meeting for nearby residents to learn more about the proposed facility, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 9. To RSVP, email RSVP@RoseMoserAllynPR.com. Directions will be provided upon RSVP.
