Nurses will volunteer to distribute food during National Nurses Month for Peoria families, 7-11 a.m., May 14, at Valleywise Comprehensive Health Center, 8088 W. Whitney Dr.

In support of Peoria area families who may be experiencing food insecurity, Valleywise Health is hosting a free food distribution event in collaboration with St. Mary’s Food Bank.

The drive-thru distribution will take place in the parking lot of Valleywise Comprehensive Health Center.

Peoria families will receive fresh fruits and vegetables and dry goods on a first-come-first-served basis until supplies last.

St. Mary’s Food Bank will be bringing their mobile distribution trailer and will provide all the food.

In addition to supporting Peoria families, Valleywise Health will be providing educational information on diabetes management and the importance of nutrition to prevent and manage the disease.
