Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona
Founded in 1993, Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is a nonprofit which transforms children’s trauma to resilience through the arts. Free Arts programs include creative elements that promote safety, self-expression and a sense of belonging, and are delivered by 900 volunteer mentors and artists who serve more than 8,000 children annually through partnerships with 43 social service child welfare agencies at 100+ sites across Maricopa County. Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona kicked off its 30th anniversary with the Pure Imagination Costume Gala in downtown Phoenix.
More than 225 supporters attended and raised more than $200,000 for Free Arts programs.
“We are expanding to serve families and young adults with a new clinical lens,” Matt Sandoval, Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona executive director, shared in a press release. “Our staff has grown to 27 members, including new leadership focused on expanding Free Arts statewide by 2028.”
Lincoln Heritage was the presenting sponsor and additional sponsors included Desert Financial Credit Union, Edward Jones, Nationwide, and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation.
