Arizona Science Center will host a special free weekend in September.

Supported by Fry's Food Stores, guests of all ages can engage in interactive exhibits and hands-on activities and demonstrations on Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8. The Science Center is located at 600 E. Washington St., in downtown Phoenix.

The free weekend also marks the closing weekend of OceanXperience, an immersive, adventure-driven traveling exhibition designed to raise awareness for the world’s oceans. Guests can step aboard an interactive replica of OceanXplorer, the world’s most advanced research and filmmaking vessel, and choose a mission that sparks curiosity.

"We are thrilled to partner with Fry's Food Stores to offer this free weekend to our community," Guy Labine, The Hazel A. Hare President & CEO of Arizona Science Center, shared in a press release. "This collaboration allows us to make science accessible to everyone and encourage lifelong learning."

Throughout the free weekend guests can add on a variety of experiences for only $5 including films in the five-story Irene P. Flinn Giant Screen Theater, “OceanXperience,” “VerticalVenture,” “Evans Family SkyCycle” and “CREATE Makerspace Pop Up Activities.”

With large crowds anticipated visitors should be prepared to wait outside for 45 minutes or more, the Science Center notes. Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Tents for shade and water stations will be provided
