Fountain Hills Friends of the Library (FHFL) recently installed new children’s and adult seating in the newly redesigned Children’s Reading Area of the Fountain Hills Library.
The new furniture includes new craft and study tables, chairs and an S-shaped sectional sofa, allowing children and families to sit and read together.
The furniture was made possible through a grant of $3,000 from the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association (FHCCA) in 2022 along with other funds donated by the FHFL.
FHFL Secretary Leslie Donaldson says while there were delays in acquiring the furniture, it was well worth the wait.
“The day after the new furniture arrived, I was at the library and met a young patron who was taking advantage of the new sofa,” Donaldson said. “I asked her opinion of the unique set-up and this photo clearly indicates that it is ‘way cool.’”
