Foothills Food Bank in Cave Creek seeking Adopt-a-Family donors

The Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center in Cave Creek seeks donors to Adopt-A-Family and brighten the holidays for children, families, and seniors in the north Phoenix foothills communities as part of the food bank’s 21st annual holiday gift program.

“We are all aware of the rising food prices, but our neighbors are especially feeling the strain,” Foothills Food Bank Executive Director Leigh Zydonik shared in a press release. “The food bank has experienced a 50% increase in visits since pre-COVID, so we know this will be a tough season for so many.”

The Foothills Food Bank, located at 6038 E. Hidden Valley Drive, is accepting donations of new board games, adult brainteaser books and new throws or small lap blankets to keep seniors warm this winter.

In addition, Walmart or Visa $50 gift cards to help families through these challenging times are also appreciated.

For quick and easy giving, there is a wish list on Amazon.com, tagged Foothills Food Bank Adopt A Family.

Donors can register to adopt a family through Thursday, Nov. 30 at foothillsfoodbank.com/get-involved/adopt-a-family-holiday-program/.

All gift cards and gifts must be dropped off at the Holland Center the week of December 3. The Holland Community Center is located at 34250 N. 60th St., in Scottsdale. A reminder to all registered donors will include drop-off hours. Amazon orders must be delivered by Friday, Dec. 8 as well.

The food bank will host holiday events for all adopted families where gifts will be given out in both Black Canyon City and northern Scottsdale/Cave Creek locations in early December.
