“Elf Academy” is currently playing at Glendale’s Brelby Theatre. The latest addition to the Brelby Theatre Company’s holiday cycle, “Elf Academy,” runs this month. This winter epic takes the audience behind the scenes of the place where the real Christmas magic happens and where the next generation is being trained to take on their roles in Santa’s workshop. This is the north pole like you’ve never seen it before, where polar bear armies threaten to invade and destroy the spirit of Christmas for good.

The production is written by Shelby Maticic and directed by Brian Maticic.Next month the Glendale theater will kick off its 10th season with “The Night of Shorts” starting Jan. 12 to showcase the work of local playwrights. After the success of last season’s “Night of Shorts,” the company is bringing it back to open Season 10 and will be hosting a writing contest to determine the short plays to be showcased in the series.
