(Renderings provided by city of Buckeye)
The city shared this rendering of its 6th Street Plaza redevelopment proposal, which shows proposed upgrades to the current 6th Street Plaza. Currently, the area is a large open gathering area abutting Buckeye Elementary. The proposed improvements will transform the plaza into a destination point and gateway element into Downtown Buckeye.

Buckeye approved its Downtown Specific Area Plan, a milestone in the city's ongoing efforts to shape the future of Downtown Buckeye.
The plan received approval from Buckeye's City Council this month after nearly 18 months of active engagement from the public and stakeholders.
This document is a collective vision for Downtown Buckeye's future, addressing various aspects ranging from transportation and public spaces to private development, according to a press release. The plan aims to transform Downtown Buckeye into a welcoming space for everyone, fostering community and economic growth.
The focus now shifts to the task of implementation. While realizing this vision will require both time and financial resources, implementing the plan remains essential to ensure the future of the downtown area, the city stated.
