Decision time arrives for Glen Lakes’ fate

Council to vote Tuesday to either keep longtime golf course or sell to developers

This is all too familiar for Jane Bachmann.

More than 40 years ago, while living in the neighborhood surrounding Glen Lakes Golf Course, 5450 W. Northern Ave., in Glendale, she and her fellow residents watched a developer come to town. At stake was losing the 9-hole executive course that anchored the community with green hills of open space and trees in favor of a housing development.

The residents weren’t having any of it.
