It may not feel like fall yet but September marks the unofficial end of summer and, in Phoenix, the Arizona State Fair.

The fair opens at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 at the fairgrounds site, 1826 W. McDowell Road, which has hosted the annual celebration since 1905. The state fair itself dates back to the late 1880s, where it took place at a different location.

The fair also marks the return of the Coliseum Concert Series, where every seat is reserved. Prices start at $25 and include admission ($15).

Doors for the concerts open at 6 p.m. followed by the start of the show at 7.

Concerts this year include:

  • Walker Hayes, Friday, Oct. 13
  • Becky G, Saturday, Oct. 14
  • Ne-Yo, Friday, Oct. 20
  • Brothers Osborne, Saturday, Oct. 21
  • Violent Femmes, Friday, Oct. 27
  • Carly Pearce, Saturday, Oct. 28

Buy tickets for specific concerts here.

Other events throughout the run of the fair range from “Fairytales on Ice: Beauty & The Beast” to a petting zoo to fine arts and photography exhibits to tribute musical acts.
