Church hosts webinar on mental health

Desert Garden United Church of Christ, 18818 N. 128th Ave., is offering a free webinar on a spectrum of mental health and mental illness concerns 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

The Rev. David Finnegan-Hosey will deliver a lecture, “Sorrows Like Sea Billows Roll: Mental Health Challenges and Our Journey of Faith,” which will be followed by a question and answer segment. The Rev. Finnegan-Hosey is the author of “Christ on the Psych Ward” and “Grace Is a Pre-Existing Condition.”

The webinar will also feature poetry by the Rev. Michelle Hargrave. The Rev. Hargrave has been writing poetry for more than four decades and leads a poetry ministry at Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato, Minnesota.

Individuals may also view the webinar via their home computer or join a group viewing on a big screen in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Register at desertgardenucc.org.
