INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
Chandler Presiding Judge Alicia Skupin has been appointed to serve two roles with the Arizona Supreme Court.
Skupin has been named a member of the Arizona Judicial Council and chair of the Arizona Supreme Court Committee on Limited Jurisdiction Courts.
The Arizona Judicial Council is a police-making body that oversees the judicial system in the state, according to a release.
Skupin will assist the court and chief justice in “the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the administration of all courts, uniformity in court operations and coordination of court services that will improve the administration of justice within Arizona,” the release stated.
In her other role, she will work to develop and put in place policies designed to improve the quality of justice, access to the courts and efficiency in court operations.
Both terms will expire on June 30, 2027.
Skupin has been serving as Chandler’s presiding judge since 2021 after joining the court in 2014.
