Chandler Fire: Three injured in Monday explosion

Posted

Tuesday afternoon, the Chandler Fire Department issued an update about an explosion that happened Monday at a manufacturing facility.

In a news release, Chandler Fire said all of the people who were in an Enzyme Process building self-evacuated. A total of four patients were evaluated and treated, on-scene.

Three of the patients were transported to local hospitals for further treatment, CFD said.

Enzyme Process is at 470 N. 56th Street, just south of Galveston Street, in an industrial area.

Chandler Fire said at approximately 1:50 p.m. Monday, an explosion happened at Enzyme Process.  The explosion led to a fire and partial roof collapse of the building.

Fire crews from Chandler, Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert, Tempe and Guadalupe were able to contain and extinguish the fire preventing further spread,  CFD said.

The incident is currently under investigation with an unknown cause,  the release said.
