Burks: Proposed Arizona Water Co. rate increase topic of Gold Canyon meeting

A community meeting will be held in August with Arizona Corp. Commissioner Kevin Thompson for a presentation and community discussion regarding Arizona Water Co.’s recent request to increase water rates more than 30%.
It is 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at Best Western Hotel’s conference room, 8333 E. Sunrise Drive in Gold Canyon.
Because of this exorbitant rate increase request, the community needs answers.
This is your chance to make comments and get answers from your elected official.
After this discussion you will still have plenty of time to submit your comments. Comments are being accepted until Sept. 15. Your voice makes a difference.
