The city of Buckeye has announced its search for residents and community members to join the 2024 General Obligation Bond Exploratory Committee.

Committee members play a role in shaping the future of Buckeye by exploring the potential uses of bonds to finance essential city projects like public safety facilities, roadways, libraries and parks.

The committee is comprised of individuals who represent the diverse voices and perspectives of Buckeye's residents. This initiative aims to ensure the city's growth and development are driven by the collective input of its residents.

Members will be tasked with evaluating potential uses of bonds as a means of financing various city programs and projects. This includes a comprehensive review of current and future community needs, financial implications and potential benefits.

Interested applicants must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older; and
  • Be a resident for at least one year; or
  • Own a business or actively represent an organization in Buckeye; or
  • Own property within Buckeye; and
  • Not be an employee of the city or member of the City Council

The committee will begin meeting in January and run through May 2024. Members must be able to dedicate a few hours each week to the process. For more information on joining the 2024 GO Bond Exploratory Committee please visit buckeyeaz.gov/buckeyebond.
