Billy Moore Days celebration making return to Old Town Avondale

Old Town Avondale will host the four-day Billy Moore Days to celebrate the city’s heritage.

Presented by Avondale Toyota, Billy Moore Days goes from Thursday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 22. The tradition welcomes residents, businesses, and local organizations to join in the festivities.

A carnival will be featured at Dennis DeConcini Park, 351 E. Western Ave., 6-10 p.m. Thursday; 6-11 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday; and noon-7 p.m. Sunday. Wristbands for unlimited rides available at www.AvondaleAZ/BillyMooreDays in advance for $17 or on-site for $20 cash only ( ATMs will be available.). 

At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 the Sam Garcia Western Avenue Library will host a free family-friendly Western-themed ghost tour.

At 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 the Billy Moore Days Parade kicks off, showcasing floats, horses, bands, entertainers, and more along Central Avenue and turning east on Western Avenue. To register to be in the parade, visit www.avondaleaz.gov/rec by Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Temporary road closures will occur in Old Town Avondale on Oct. 20 and 21.
