Banner Estrella delivers its second set of triplets in hospital history

Posted

In an exciting early morning event, Banner Estrella Medical Center successfully delivered triplets via a C-section, marking the second time that the hospital has welcomed triplets since its opening in 2005.

The healthy triplets were born prematurely at 34 weeks gestation on Monday, July 29, according to a press release. Two identical girls made their debut at 7:24 a.m., followed by a boy at 7:25 a.m.

“We are thankful to the medical team at Banner Estrella for their exceptional care and support throughout this journey. Their dedication made all the difference for our family during this unforgettable time,” Bryan Vandermoere, father of the triplets, said in the release.

Banner Estrella Medical Center’s Director of Nursing for Women and Infant Services Hannah Fox said the hospital is thrilled to have safely welcomed these babies into the world, adding that they are honored that the family trusted the hospital with the job.

"Our dedicated team, including neonatology, anesthesia providers, maternal fetal medicine specialists, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and all of our women and infant services personnel, worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth coordination of this complex delivery,” Fox said in the release.

Banner Estrella Medical Center, which delivered a total of 5,554 babies in 2023, stands as the second busiest hospital for baby deliveries within the Banner health system and the leading facility in the West Valley region.

The hospital is equipped to handle most high-risk deliveries past 28 weeks gestation, with maternal fetal medicine readily available.

The hospital extends its gratitude to all involved in the successful delivery of the triplets, emphasizing the collaborative effort and expertise that contributed to this joyful outcome, the release stated.

Banner Estrella Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital in West Phoenix specializing in heart care, obstetrics, general surgery, emergency services and weight loss surgery. One of the first fully digital hospitals in the country, Banner Estrella has served as a model for dozens of new hospitals built around the world since it opened in 2005, according to the release.

Banner Estrella is part of Banner Health, a nonprofit health care system with 33 hospitals in six states. For more, visit bannerhealth.com/estrella.
