Avondale to close Thomas Road for improvements

The city of Avondale will be closing Thomas Road just west of 99th Avenue.
The closure is scheduled to take place from Monday, Jan. 29, through Monday, Feb. 19. This is the second closure of the two-phased closure. The work is necessary to facilitate the completion of the planned SRP Irrigation and waterline improvements.
Residents and businesses will have continued access to Thomas Road and 107th Avenue for local traffic only. Access to Holy Cross Cemetery will still be available from Thomas Road or from 99th Avenue.
All eastbound through traffic will be detoured at 107th Avenue to either Indian School Road or McDowell Road. All westbound through traffic will be detoured at 99th Avenue to either Indian School Road or McDowell Road.
The city asks that all drivers follow all posted construction barricades and signs during this time period.
