Arizona Tennis Classic donates $102k to Phoenix Children's Hospital

2024 tournament set attendance records

Posted

For the second year in a row, the Arizona Tennis Classic proudly made a six-figure donation to its nonprofit beneficiary Phoenix Children's Hospital. The $102,000 donation will be used to fund the very best medical specialists, cutting-edge technology and family-centered services without regard to a family's ability to pay. The donation was funded by a combination of ticket proceeds and sponsorships.

In addition to the PCH donation, the tournament raised $10,000 for Serve the Future, which provides mentoring through tennis to high school students in underserved communities throughout Phoenix.

Some of the top tennis players in the world participated in this year's event including Chris Eubanks, Nuno Borges, Matteo Berrettini, Fabien Reboul, Robert Galloway, Hugo Nys and more. In this year's finals, 2023 Arizona Tennis Classic champion Nuno Borges defended his title against Matteo Berrettini and came out on top. Both players in the finals were past champions with Berrettini winning the inaugural tournament in 2019, making him a Phoenix fan favorite from early on. Berrettini's exciting run to the finals was a tremendous effort as this tournament marked his return from a six-month hiatus from the tour due to injury. Both finalists are playing the main draw in Miami this week.

The Arizona Tennis Classic broke attendance records every day of the tournament, and the new, upgraded stadium seating was the buzz around the tournament. The Phoenix Country Club's intimate setting makes this event especially unique as attendees are close to the action and players. The Arizona Tennis Classic has become a player favorite tournament among all of the challenger events played throughout the year. Tournament hosts look forward to hosting the Classic again in 2025.
