Talking Stick Resort is going all in for the 17th annual Arizona State Poker Championship this year, welcoming players and fans back Aug. 18–22.

The five-day tournament is known for its high stakes and skilled players, and this year Talking Stick is upping the ante with a prize pool of over $1.1 million, according to a press release.

Professional poker player Tiffany Michelle will serve as host once again this year. One of the most recognized women in poker, she has broken records at the World Series of Poker and is a gold ring holder. In 2008, she was the “Last Woman Standing” at the famed event, finishing No. 17 out of nearly 7,000 players, the release stated.

The poker championship will kick off at 9 a.m. each day in The Arena Poker Room, with semi-finals on Monday, Aug. 21.

To enter the tournament, players will pay a $1,100 buy-in giving them $20,000 in tournament chips to start. However, those who wish to start with more will have the opportunity to purchase an additional $10,000 in bonus chips for $30. Players who make it to day five will return at 10 a.m. and play until a new champion is crowned to take home the 2023 Arizona State Poker Champion title.

Talking Stick Resort is located at 9800 Talking Stick Way in Scottsdale.
