Arizona junior wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named to The Associated Press’ preseason All-America first team.
The Hawai’i native was left off the preseason All-America team last year but ended up on the AP All-America third team after the season was played.
McMillan had 10 receiving touchdowns and 1,402 receiving yards in his sophomore season, the second most in school history, 20 yards behind the record set by Dennis Northcutt in 1999.
McMillan was the only Arizona or Arizona State player to make either the first or second preseason teams. The Big 12 had the fewest selections on the first team of the Power Four conferences with three – McMillan, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II and Colorado’s Travis Hunter as an all-purpose player.
The SEC had 10 players on the first team, the Big Ten had eight and the ACC had four. Ohio State led all schools with four first-team players, followed by Georgia and Michigan with three apiece.
