The Arizona Lottery gave funding to 47 nonprofits around the state.
In partnership with the State Employee Charitable Campaign, the Lottery provided a $25,000 dollar-for-dollar match for pledges to charities that are Arizona-based, and that provide services to address housing, homelessness, or food relief.
“We are proud to partner with the State Employee Charitable Campaign and to be able to support local nonprofits and all of the hard work that they do,” Arizona Lottery CEO Alec Thomson shared in a press release.
The Lottery annually provides millions of dollars from ticket sale proceeds to ensure access to housing and necessities to nonprofits. Last fiscal year, the Arizona Lottery provided $33 million to health and human services programs to support Arizona's most vulnerable populations, including children and families experiencing homelessness.
With the help of the Arizona Lottery $25,000 dollar-for-dollar match, the State Employee Charitable Campaign surpassed its annual goal of $750,000 by raising $783,000. The top three donation recipients from the campaign are Child Crisis Arizona, St. Mary’s Food Bank, and Mulligan’s Manor.
