Archeology Fair coming to Queen Creek
Posted
Bring the family and join the San Tan Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society for an Archeology Fair.
The fair will be a day of hands-on learning and demonstrations pertaining to the local community’s archeology and history. The organization will be doing sandpainting, adobe brick making, flintknapping, pottery, petroglyph making and other activities for all ages.
The Archeology Fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the San Tan Historical Museum, 20425 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek. The event is free.
There will be information available about the Site Steward Program that monitors and preserves cultural resources. There will also be information about safe desert hiking.
In addition, there will be information from the Pinal County Historical Museum and a table all about cotton. Also, there will be demonstrations of ancient tools and skills by the Study of Ancient Lifeways and Technologies (S.A.L.T.).
The museum will be open during the fair so guests can learn all about the original schoolhouse in Queen Creek.
