9/11 Healing Field in Tempe seeks volunteers

Posted

The 9/11 Healing Field returns to Tempe Beach Park from Sept. 9 to 11, to memorialize the lives lost during the terrorist attack.

Event organizers are inviting the public to volunteer and assist with putting up 3,000 American flags for each life lost in the tragedy 22 years ago, a press release explained.

Volunteers are needed to help put up the 3000+ flags and take them down.

If you'd like to volunteer, just join the team at Tempe Beach Park at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, to put them up or Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 6 a.m. to take them down.

Registration is not necessary, but an email to Doug Royse at dougroyse@kw.com would be appreciated.

The 11th Annual Freedom Concert will also be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., bringing back a number of returning acts.

The 9/11 Healing Field will conclude with a candlelight vigil on Monday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m.
