2 upcoming West Valley gigs for John Leo Group

The John Leo Group will twice bring its brand of blues and rock and roll to the West Valley this week.
The band plays from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at The Sunset Bistro at the Lakes, 19260 N. Westbrook Pkwy., Peoria. That’s followed by a gig from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15 at Birt’s Bistro, 16752 N. Greasewood St. in Surprise.
The band got its start when New York transplant Mr. Leo retired and moved to Arizona in 2013. Not long after moving here, the harmonica player began playing at Birt’s Bistro’s jam sessions, which led to the formation of the John Leo Group.
The Peoria gig features a $2 cover charge.
