Notre Dame Prep names Heisler as assistant principal
Posted
Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale has named Tracey Heisler as assistant principal of learning services for the 2021-22 school year.
An educator for 19 years, Heisler has spent the last 14 years at Notre Dame Prep. She began teaching English at NDP in 2007, and later served as department chair of curriculum and instructional coaching coordinator, and recently the dean of academics, according to a press release.
“I am humbled to serve as Assistant Principal of Learning Services and to continue working in partnership with our incredible faculty, staff and families at NDP,” said Heisler in a prepared statement.
A 2021 graduate of the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame, she has a master of arts in educational leadership and received her undergraduate degree in English education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the release said.
“Tracey Heisler is an outstanding educator with excellent training and significant experience,” said NDP Principal Dr. Gene Sweeney, in a prepared statement.
“She is familiar with and respected by the NDP staff, and those attributes, coupled with her work ethic, intelligence, and knowledge of the culture of the school make her the ideal candidate for the role of assistant principal of learning services.”
Originally from north-central Wisconsin, Heisler will provide leadership in the academic curriculum and instruction for the school. Working with Brie Dragonetti, assistant principal of student services, and Bonnie-Jean Chudzinski, dean of faculty, the three women will make up a team to advance learning, collaboration, and results at the four-year Catholic high school, noted the release.
“Tracey is able to see the big picture,” said NDP Math Department Chair Cynthia Barberio in a prepared statement.
“I attended one of Tracey’s seminars at an Ed Tech Conference in Boston, and I can tell you that she is an expert at promoting visual thinking, igniting student curiosity, and engaging students one-on-one through the use of various technologies.”
Additionally, Heisler is a parent of a Notre Dame Prep alumna. She has three daughters, the release said, noting her eldest graduated from NDP in 2017.
“I chose NDP for my own daughter because of the school’s mission to support academic success, spiritual formation and a commitment to serving others,” she said.
Opened in 2002, Notre Dame Prep is a diocesan Catholic college preparatory high school with a co-ed enrollment of 852 students. The school has received national recognition for the caliber of its academic, arts and athletic programs.
