Medieval Times launches new show

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament has launched an all new show, which is the attraction’s first new show since 2017 and will be rolling out at all 10 castles nationwide.

The new showwill  debut at Medieval Times Scottsdale on Aug. 30, according to a press release. Its launch coincides with important milestones for Medieval Times, as the popular attraction celebrates its 40th anniversary and the Arizona castle’s five year anniversary this year.

The new show centers around an alliance between a king and a queen, each leading their own respective kingdoms who unite to usher in an era of peace. Guest feedback heavily influenced the development of the new storyline, which features new characters, new stunts and new twists and turns, while still providing fans with jousting, sword fights between knights and horsemanship and falconry enjoyed over a four-course meal.

“Producing a new show is a huge undertaking, from creating a new script, to choreographing each scene and perfectly synchronizing the timing of music and lighting, along with food service,” Jim Collins, Director of Stunt Choreography for Medieval Times, said in the release. “We’ve been working on this new show for the past two years and have conducted extensive knight and horse training to pack as much action as possible into the storyline. We’re excited to bring it to life and have no doubt it will have our guests on the edge of their seats.”

In addition to the plot, the new show includes a number of upgrades. The musical score is a compilation of musical scores. There are technological improvements to the sound and light effects. The new show also features all new custom-designed and hand-sewn costumes created at the Medieval Times costume shop in Dallas, as well as all new costumes for the horses.

Tickets to the new show can be purchased online now at medievaltimes.com/scottsdale.
