Speak Up: SUV didn't cause the accident; the driver did

Your article, "SUV hits, kills bicyclist; Phoenix PD investigates speeding, impairment as cause," states the cyclist was struck by the SUV. (Daily Independent, Aug. 14, 2024)

A more accurate statement would be he was struck by an 18-year-old who was driving the SUV.

It may seem like a small thing, but you don't even mention the driver until later on in your piece. The SUV wasn't responsible for the crash.
