Progressive rock trio Dada will mark their 30th anniversary with a nationwide headline tour that will come to Phoenix.

The Return to Dizz Knee Land Tour, comprising 30 shows, will stop at The Rebel Lounge on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The tour showcases the original lineup of Michael Gurley (vocals, guitar), Joie Calio (vocals, bass) and Phil Leavitt (drums). The anticipated tour will celebrate the release of their pioneering 1992 debut album “Puzzle.”

"Reflecting on the missed opportunity to celebrate our 30th anniversary amidst the pandemic we were resolute in our commitment to compensate our fans,” Leavitt shared in a press release. “Reuniting the original lineup on stage, despite the challenges we've faced, is an incredibly poignant moment for us all. Moreover, we're excited to delve into our repertoire more extensively than ever before."

Dada's origins trace back to the late '80s when Gurley and Calio began crafting songs and performing as an acoustic duo. With the addition of Leavitt, they topped the charts with their single "Dizz Knee Land," which garnered extensive radio play and propelled album sales to over 1 million worldwide.

Subsequently, the band found themselves supporting acts such as Crowded House, Depeche Mode and Sting. In 1994, they unveiled their sophomore effort, “American Highway Flower.”
