The U.S Postal Service needs to fill 400 positions in the Valley and will be conducting a job fair in September for those interested in becoming carriers, automotive technicians and more.
The job fair will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, 545 N. 40th St., Phoenix.
The USPS has immediate openings in Arizona for:
• City Carrier Assistants
• Rural Carrier Associates
• Mail Processing Clerks
• Mail Handler Assistants
• Plant Postal Support Employees
• Station Postal Support Employees
• Automotive Technicians (career)
• Tractor Trailer Operators (career)
To assist potential applicants, USPS personnel will provide detailed information about available positions, answer questions and walk future employees through the application process, according to a release.
Starting pay range is $17.32 - $27.52 per hour depending on the position, paid bi-weekly. Benefits include regular pay increases, paid vacation leave and health insurance, the release stated.

Applicants must be 18 years of age (or 16 with a diploma) and be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
There is a five-year residency requirement, according to the release.
