Man faces murder charge in knife-fight killing

A 36-year-old man  has been booked into jail following a deadly knife fight on a Phoenix street.

Christopher Rhodd was taken to jail on a second-degree murder charge after being released from a hospital on Aug. 23, police said.

Rhodd went to the hospital with stab wounds following the fight that occurred about 8 p.m. Aug. 19 near 16th Street and Indian School Road, police said.

Officers responded to the location and found Efren Partida, 34, with a stab would. Partida died at a hospital.

Preliminary information suggests the men were in an argument at a convenience store when each pulled out a knife. The fight led to the injuries, police said.
