Jeff Zink has a large lead in Republican race for Congressional District 3

Posted

Jeff Zink has a large lead over his opponent Jesus David Mendoza in the race for the Republican nomination for Congressional District 3.

In early voting results, Zink had 6,382 votes or 65.2% of the vote versus 3,409 votes for Mendoza, or 34.8% of the vote.

Zink won the Republican nomination for the seat in 2022, running unopposed in the primary but eventually lost to incumbent Rep. Ruben Gallego in the general election. The seat is now open as Gallego is running for U.S. Senate. This is Mendoza’s first campaign for Congress.

District 3 includes most of southern, western, and downtown Phoenix, along with a portion of Glendale.
