Peoria residents may submit a council redistricting map by Oct. 31

Posted

Peoria residents are encouraged to participate in the redistricting process and draw district maps.

By using online mapping software, residents can rebalance the city council districts to equal populations and submit new maps by Oct. 31.

As required by federal law, redistricting is the process of adjusting voting district boundaries in accordance with population shifts from 2020 census data.

Peoria’s population has grown to 191,000, an increase of more than 35,000 residents since 2010. New city council district boundaries will be in effect for the August and November 2022 elections.
