Peoria council to consider food truck ordinance update

Makes city compliant with Arizona law

City Council will consider Peoria’s updated mobile food vendor ordinance in the coming weeks.

On May 14, 2018, Gov. Doug Ducey signed House Bill 2371 into law, commonly known as the Food Truck Freedom bill, bringing more uniformity to the industry on a state level.

The bill amended Arizona law to establish a clear definition of a “mobile food unit,” outline the scope of municipal powers to regulate mobile vending, and establish annual licensing requirements through the Arizona Department of Health Services.
