Peoria’s summer music series returns in August with a focus on guitarists and storytelling.

These concerts are free at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 10580 N. 83rd Dr.

Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. - Mahogany & Steel
Two lifelong friends, Steven Webb and Jessey Mclain, met in the military and discovered a shared love for country music. Both stationed together, they formed Mahogany and Steel, a country and folk group that enjoys performing their favorite songs. Their blend of rich vocals and dual acoustic guitars offers audiences a musical excursion with a down-home flair.

Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. - Gabo Fayuca
Phoenix-based Gabo Fayuca is the founding member of Fayuca, a reggae-rock/Latino group, whose sound shifts through genres while blending modern reggae melodies with Latin percussion. Known for fierce live performances and relentless touring, Gabo excels at blending his Latin roots and mother tongue with the ethos of reggae and the passion of progressive punk.

Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. - Tessa Karrys
Arizona’s own Tessa Karrys is best known for her soulful voice and heartfelt original songs. Her early influences of blues and country western can be heard in her folk-pop writing and performance style. Karrys has performed extensively at music venues, festivals, and numerous social events. Her EP titled “Begin” will soon be followed by a new full-length album.

It is free to attend all three concerts. Reservations are suggested and available at www.TheaterWorks.org or by calling 623-815-7930.
