Three Paradise Valley resorts voted top 10 in Arizona

Posted

After recently making the top 500 list of Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards, three resorts in Paradise Valley are also voted to be the top 10 in Arizona.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, a Gurney’s Resort & Spa is ranked No. 2, The Hermosa Inn is ranked No. 3 and Mountain Shadows is ranked No. 8 out of the top 10 resorts in Arizona for Travel + Leisure’s 2024 World’s Best Awards.

Arizona’s best resorts in 2024 include five properties in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale.

Sanctuary Camelback Mountain reopened under Gurney’s management in 2021 with a history that stretches back to the 1950s when it was born as a Palm Springs-inspired Paradise Valley Racquet Club.

The Hermosa Inn is now considered a romantic destination that famed cowboy artist Alonzo “Lon” Megargee designed and built as his personal home in 1936.

Mountain Shadows Resort was founded in 1959, rebuilt and reopened in 2017 under new ownership with modernist design that readers voted for in addition to its welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly environment.

Every year, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Over 186,000 T+L readers completed the 2024 survey. Hotels were specifically rated on these criteria: rooms/facilities, location, service, food, value.
