Posted
Independent Newsmedia
The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is gearing up for an end-of-the-summer event that will take guests on “a nostalgic road trip through the lower 48.”
The Great American Road Trip to the Princess will run over Labor Day weekend and will feature all the fun and Americana of the classic road trip, just in one place, according to a press release.
Check in will be in the Princess Ballroom, directly across from the lobby, and will look like a classic American pit stop. Guests can take picture with a classic car provided by Barrett-Jackson, as well as a new BMW provided by BMW North Scottsdale.
As part of the roadtrip, the Princess will showcase the many flavors of the country with its restaurants featuring various regional cuisines.
La Hacienda will feature a road trip through Mexico with a Cabo vibe while Bourbon Steak will celebrate the best of Chicago and Kansas City style steakhouses, with a Mina twist.
Toro Latin Restaurant & Rum Bar will take diners on a road trip through Miami, featuring their famed Cubano sandwich while Ironwood American Kitchen will feature the all American road trip BBQ, with BBQ boxes that include Carolina BBQ pulled pork, Texas brisket, Memphis BBQ chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, white bread and pickles.
Other events include a drive-in movie on Sept. 5; fishing derbies twice a day at the resort’s fully-stocked lagoon; nature walks with Ranger Rick around the resort’s 65 landscaped acres; a curated art show; and watching the Kentucky Derby on Sept. 5 with various southern cuisine.
The menu for the Kentucky Derby includes deviled eggs, pimento cheese fondue, heirloom tomato and watermelon salad, shrimp and polenta cake, fried chicken and biscuits, and ribeye or andouille sausage sliders.
The weekend will also feature spa discounts as those who book for two will see a savings of up to $50. Another deal includes 20% off the Havasupai Falls Rejuvenation treatment, which includes a two-hour treatment that has a body scrub and massage.
There will also be a Girlfriends Champagne Pedi for two event for $179, which includes a glass of champagne, a red Arizona clay mask and shea butter paraffin.
There will also be an art show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 6 in Princess Plaza. This show will feature work from local artists and guests can purchase them.
The resort’s six pools will also be on hand for guests, which includes a dive-in movie every Saturday night. Each pool has unique features such as a white sand area at the Sunset Beach pool; two 200-foot waterslides at the Sonoran Splash Pad; and an adults only pool.
The resort will feature an Arizona resident’s rate, which includes 40% off the best available rate, as well as the Stay Close Package, where the second night is free.
Other packages include the Play More, Stay More package, featuring a free round of golf at TPC Scottsdale and the Sip, Savor and Splash, which features a $100 daily resort credit.
Resort officials assure they are taking the health and safety of their guests and colleagues seriously. To this end, the resort has launched the ALLSAFE program, which includes extra cleaning staff in public areas and ensuring all guest rooms are sanitized, a release claims.
