Robert Stewart McMillin

Robert (Bob) S. McMillin of Sun City, AZ, passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 11, 1935 in Ottumwa, IA. Bob was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and wonderful friend. He is survived by his wife, Sandra McMillin, his brothers - Dave McMillin and Mike McMillin, and his sister – Cheryl McMillin of Ottumwa, Daughters – Cynthia McMillin Jones and Karen McMillin Utz and 3 grandchildren [Kelsey Mabes (Chris and 3 great-grandchildren – Oakland, Blaise and Flora), Cody Utz and Elizabeth Utz (3 great-grandchild – Michael, Lamar, and Aaliyah)]. He graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1954, He married and enlisted in the Army. After serving in the Army, he worked for the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, MD and retired after 32 years on November 30, 1990. He loved to camp with his family and we visited many places across the country. One summer, he, Sandy and his two daughters traveled across the country, from MD to CA. After his wife retired, they sold their house in Bowie, MD and bought a motorhome to travel the country before settling in Sun City. He was a master photographer and was an active member with the Bowie-Crofton Camera Club and The Camera Guild of Sun City, AZ. He loved taking scenic pictures. He was also found of feeding the birds that he set up many different feeders of all kinds for the neighborhood birds. Robert McMillin leaves behind a legacy of love and lasting memories. His departure is mourned by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A memorial service will be held at Village Inn Restaurant, 9800 W. Happy Valley Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383 on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 2 pm. If you wish to send a memorial, please donate to the American Heart Association or Sunshine Service of Sun City.
