Litchfield Park requests restricted water use

Posted

Liberty Utilities has requested Litchfield Park residents to restrict their water usage as the company addresses ongoing water pressure problems. This request is part of stage two of Liberty Utilities Curtailment Plan Tariff that was implemented after its water storage or well production was functioning at less than 80% capacity for two days and Liberty Utilities identified issues that created a belief that the company was unable to meet water demand going forward.

The request from Liberty Utilities is voluntary with Litchfield Park resident addresses that end in 1,2,4,7,0 use Monday and Thursday for their outdoor watering schedule, and resident addresses that end in 3,5,6,8,9 use Tuesday and Friday for their outdoor watering schedule.

By eliminating runoff from outdoor irrigation, using a shut-off hose nozzle when using a hose, refraining from washing driveways or sidewalks, fixing indoor and outdoor leaks, and using water saving devices indoors and outdoors Litchfield Park residents can further be conscious of their water use.

Mandatory water restrictions are not expected, but the curtailment plan tariff requires Liberty Utilities to begin those mandatory restrictions if the company’s water storage or well production has been less than 50% of capacity for at least 24 consecutive hours and Liberty Utilities identified issues that created a belief that the company was unable to meet water demand going forward.
