Glendale club mixes Zydeco, blues, dance for Labor Day weekend

Posted

Westside Blues, Jazz & More, 17045 N. 59th Ave., is preparing a Labor Day weekend full of music.

Reservations are only held at the Glendale club until start of music. Seating is open and first come first served, so guests should arrive early.

Doors open at 6 p.m.. Refunds are not offered. There is a two-drink minimum per guest (alcohol or non-alcohol).

Weekend shows are:

  • Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble take over the club for two nights, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 and Saturday, Aug. 31. Taylor's bluesy, soulful vocals and his band’s hard driving Zydeco beat blend to create high-energy dance music for all audiences. The music is true to its roots in Louisiana Zydeco, but contemporary enough to appeal to a broad range of music lovers.
  • A Kool & The Gang Tribute show is coming for 7:30-11 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1 with 911 The Dangerous Band featuring the Too Hot Horns. It's a party with one of the "hottest' bands in the Phoenix metro area.
